General
When business strategies are considered, often the selection of one or more appropriate business partners is a point to ponder, either because you have reached the limits of your capacity or because market situation and competition make such a step necessary. "Co-operation" instead of "single combat" is then your credo. An entrepreneur benefits from co-operation concepts if the latter lead to a clearly advantageous market position or to a higher yield level when compared with the stand-alone version.
Co-operations may also be suitable instead of or before the conclusion of a corporate transaction. Then only a contractually agreed form of co-operation between involved companies is chosen instead of a company acquisition or participatory acquisition. Freedom of contract allows to flexibly arrange Co-operations in various ways.
Special forms of Co-operations are Strategic Alliances, Joint Ventures and Mergers.
